Understanding What Your Bank Needs

This session will cover the current market topics during the pandemic, on-balance sheet vs off-balance sheet financing, better understanding what your bank looks at when underwriting a credit and accounting updates for leasing standards.
Chance Tharp is the Director of Equipment Finance of Simmons Bank. In his current role for Simmons, he is responsible for overseeing the banks direct efforts in building out an equipment finance group succinct with the commercial & private bank. In addition to his director role, he also collaborates with the commercial & private banking officers throughout Simmons footprint to provide a consultative approach to equipment financing needs. Prior to his role with Simmons, he worked for Regions Bank for approximately 9 years, mostly through the bank's equipment finance group covering the Arkansas, North Louisiana, East Texas and West Tennessee markets. Chance is the past president of Rotaract Club of Little Rock which is the young professionals group of Rotary Club 99, one of the largest Rotary Clubs in the nation. He has also served in various capacities with the Central Arkansas Risk Management Association, Junior Achievement, and UAMS Envoys. Currently, Chance is a member of the Leadership Greater Little Rock Class XXXV.

PPP Loan Update: Tax Planning Considerations and Forgiveness Application Timing
Learn about the latest updates on PPP loans, including the changes made to owner compensation, payroll costs, and self-rental. The discussion will include factors companies should consider to help determine when to apply for forgiveness and why tax planning around the treatment of this loan is imperative in 2020.

Ryan Hasler is a tax senior in Katz, Sapper & Miller’s Fort Wayne office and is a member of the firm’s Business Advisory Group. Ryan works with clients to help develop strategies to minimize tax liability, ensure compliance, and achieve their goals. He has experience researching complex tax issues and analyzing the impact of tax reform on businesses and individuals.
